a much needed beginning

Welcome to my new blog, astoneinzion!

Without any hesitation, i would like to come out with the reason for the creation of this new blog: spiritual growth. Earlier today i was looking back through my old xanga blog, and realized how much an Internet blog resembles a spiritual journal, and even more apt, a spiritual journal that is open to others.

Lately, a public spiritual journal seems to be exactly what i need to grow as a believer and the idea is only intensified when i think of the encouragement and edification that it could bring to others. Therefore this blog's purpose is to grow you as the reader and myself as an author, as well as to bring about zeal and passion towards God. All together i want this blog to be as much yours as it is mine, i would encourage feed back even if it's only a word or two (a little bit goes a long way). And even if no one reads my posts, i will continue blogging, because this as a spiritual journal after all.

In regards to the name of my blog, "a stone in Zion" refers to Christ being the cornerstone of our lives; to be the foundation of everything we do. If there is one thing i have learned it is that God must be the center of everything in our lives, anything less and everything falls apart; just the same as a building without a sturdy foundation. That is why Christ will be made the foundation and center of this blog.
